Dow AgroSciences, based in Indianapolis, Indiana, USA, develops leading-edge crop protection and plant biotechnology solutions to meet the challenges of the growing world. Dow AgroSciences is a wholly owned subsidiary of The Dow Chemical Company and had annual global sales of $6.4 billion in 2012.

By 2050, the world’s food production systems must support an estimated 9 billion people, with a shrinking base of agricultural land and limited water resources. Dow AgroSciences combines the power of science and technology with the “human element” to discover and develop innovative agricultural solutions for a more sustainable world. We are committed to increasing crop productivity through higher yields, better varieties, and more targeted pest management. We develop innovative chemical and biotechnology solutions to meet the food, feed, and fiber needs of the world. The 4R program provides a strong framework and leadership for managing nutrients in a growing agriculture industry. Agriculture organizations and companies across the value chain can adopt, support and endorse this model. As a global leader in agriculture, Dow AgroSciences aspires to help lead and support efforts like the 4R program.

Through educational and marketing efforts, Instinct® and N-Serve® nitrogen stabilizers from Dow AgroSciences support the 4R program. Dow AgroSciences funds third-party and university research to support the science behind our nitrogen stabilizer solutions while reinforcing the 4R program. Nitrogen stabilizers from Dow AgroSciences optimize yield and corn plant health. They also support the following environmentally beneficial farming practices:

  • Reduce leaching of nitrogen into groundwater and surface water by managing nitrification of fertilizer
  • Reduce the loss of nitrogen into the atmosphere as a greenhouse gas by reducing denitrification
    • Can be incorporated with ½ inch of rain to reduce the use of fuel
    • Can be tank-mixed with fertilizer, herbicides and insecticides to further reduce fuel use
    • The only nitrogen stabilizers accepted for registration by the EPA

Instinct nitrogen stabilizer optimizes the yield potential of corn by ensuring nitrogen is available in the root zone during key stages of corn growth when used with liquid nitrogen, manure or dry fertilizer blends.

N-Serve nitrogen stabilizer has more than 35 years of proven success, protecting growers’ largest input investment and ensuring nitrogen is available when and where corn needs it most. When applied with anhydrous ammonia, N-Serve inhibits nitrification, which helps optimize corn yield and profit potential.
